So China has sort of announced that if N. Korea strikes first, they will be on
their own.

Not sure if they would consider the threatened missiles near Guam a first strike
or not.
US territory, so yes.

We ain't waiting on a lob over to Caliphonya to go if this happens.

Maybe, actually. The question is if they deliberately target the territory itself.
If they only drop a missile nearby that would be more like a shot across the
bow, something intended as a warning but not intended to harm.
I agree, depending on how far offshore.

And if it is explosive or simply a dud.
Of course if they deliberately pop a cap on Guam, that is definite aggression and
we have a moral reason to clean out that socialist sewer. A bigger problem would
be if they try to shoot near but accidentally hit the place. We would have no way
of knowing that it was in fact accidental.
So we presume not.
No matter what happens, I do not look forward to a war with them, even if China
stays out. We could win but it would be costly.
Yep.
Though a poor country, they have
put a tremendous fraction of their resources into their military, and with no
outside news the people are brainwashed to think that we are the devil incarnate.
It would be a nasty conflict.
The kind that begs for neutron bombs.
